The doctors and staff at AHON are passionate in giving back to our community, countless hours and resources have been donated to pets in need through our local shelter, rescues, and the local feral cat Trap/Neuter/Return program. Doctors Burdick and Bowling sponsor four shelter adoptions every month (check out our newest pets of the month on our Facebook page). Dr Burdick, Suzanne, and Tracey donate a day every month to performing surgery for the Trap/Neuter/Return program. Dr. Fox goes to our schools to inspire students who are interested in becoming future veterinarians, she donates her time to our shelter’s annual disaster training. All our doctors and staff give time to our community events as well as provide foster care for pets who have specialized needs.

You may have noticed the Giving Tree in front of our building, it was created as a way to not only celebrate the affection and friendship shared between humans and animals, but as another way to give back to our community. The leaves on the tree are purchased in clinic by those who wish to celebrate a pet, remember a pet, or to show love for our community. The leaves are displayed on the tree for a period of time, then given back as a memento to the purchaser. They are available in three different sizes and a variety of color options. Proceeds from the leaves go directly to our Community Care Fund. This non-profit fund is designed to offer one-time assistance for established client’s special cases where funds may not be available to provide the needed care to a beloved pet with a ONE-TIME unforeseen or emergent case. There are some medical conditions that are excluded, this fund is not set up for preventative health care needs. Stop in and purchase a leaf to celebrate your beloved pet!
